Afriky Lolo

Afriky Lolo is a non-profit organization that is committed to bringing West
African dance and culture to the community of St. Louis, Missouri.

Founded in 2003 by master dancer Diadié Bathily, the company has grown in
recognition and merit. It currently hosts 75 dancers and eight drummers ranging
in age from 6 to 60 and up. The company’s educational program, comprised of
workshops on dance, drumming and history, is an increasingly popular resource
to city and county schools in the St. Louis area. Afriky Lolo also has held
performances at colleges, universities and dance theaters throughout the Midwest.

Afriky Lolo, meaning African Star, aims to infuse the rich beauty, energy
and heritage of Africa into the lives of its students in the United States.
